REDUX 1.6 Gold Official Patch

THIS IS NOT NFM; THERE IS A DEFINITE LEARNING CURVE; BUT YOU WILL GROW AS YOU QUICKLY GET PAST THE SAME FAILURES IN FLYING THAT KILLED THE MAJORITY OF WWI PILOTS; NOT BY ENEMY BULLETS, BUT IN TRAINING. YOU HAVE ENDLESS CHANCES; THEY DIDN'T.

AT FIRST, YOU PROBABLY WILL:

  • Stall more often than you are used to
  • Find it harder to hit the enemy
  • Need more time lining up the shot
  • Move your stick too fast at high airspeed, blowing your wings off
  • Your guns will jam

Planes float more like the real thing; you lose the arcade feel of NFM. Some mistakenly expect to be a jock the first time they fly. Some who fly light planes, and/or have aeronautical engineering backgrounds, can quickly get up to speed by applying textbook methods. The FM is meticulously physics based, so physics based flying methods work. Patience and practice overcome the quirks. There is an opportunity to show respect for what the real pilots had to do, in your effort of getting up to speed in this FM. You will find the safe spot this side of the stall using the grunting and creaking sounds as warning signals of stress, structural and human. To get through the initial learning curve and avoid quitting before you do:

  1. KEEP YOUR AIRSPEED UP!
  2. Start out in fast planes like an SE5a, SPAD or D7 and learn how to approach for an attack
  3. Work with a wingman
